BMG Aquires Transon Heat Exchangers (Oct 2008)
BMG – Bearing Man Group – has acquired Transon, leading manufacturers of versatile heat exchanger systems, which are based on the latest heat transfer and process technology.
“The Transon operation, which has relocated to the new BMG Drives facility in Mahogany Ridge near Pinetown, will be supported by BMG’s extensive branch network that distributes an extensive range of engineering components throughout Southern Africa,” says Charles Walters, BMG’s CEO. “This acquisition extends BMG’s product range to include modular shell and tube heat exchangers, designed for oil cooling applications.
“The 5 000m² BMG Drives facility, which offers a repair and maintenance service for gearboxes and electric motors, is enhanced with the addition of Transon range of heat exchangers. These systems are designed and manufactured at this new facility to meet exact requirements.
“RGB Engineering, which was also recently acquired by BMG, is based in his facility and offers a design, repair and maintenance service for industrial gearboxes.”
Transon modular shell and tube heat exchangers are designed for the efficient and safe handling of hydraulic oil in large gearbox systems. The modular design, which comprises one or more shell and tube type standard units, enables installations to be extended to meet increased capacity requirements.
Single and multi-module units can be arranged in horizontal or vertical configurations, depending on capacity and size requirements. Mounting stands are designed for simple, quick installation to match the related pipe work.
This heat exchanger system, which is available in a wide range of steels and alloys, as well as corrosion and abrasion resistant materials, is enhanced by the ready availability of standardised interchangeable components.
BMG offers a technical advisory and support service to diverse industries throughout the country.
