BMG’s drives division supplies a range of specialist equipment designed for harbours, shipping and off-shore mining applications.

“BMG will soon be supplying two wheel gear motors into the offshore marine industry in Cape Town, which will be assembled as complete winch drives, including hydraulic motors and negative brakes,” says Stuart Gannon, BMG Drives. “These wheel gear motors form part of the Dinamic Oil range, which consists of industrial planetary gearboxes, slewing gearboxes and rotary tables. These winch drives, which are compatible with a wide range of hydraulic and electric motors, ensure total versatility for the marine and shipping sector.”

The Dinamic Oil range – available in Southern Africa exclusively from BMG – also consists of winch drives designed specially for the offshore mining industry. These winches include mooring winches, derricking winches, A-frame lift winches, umbilical winches, recovery winches and capstan winches.

Equipment used for materials handling in harbours includes winches for boom cranes, boat hoists and deck cranes.

Dinamic Oil also manufactures special winches for the marine industry to meet specific requirements, with line pulls up to 30 tons. These units can be manufactured as a complete winch drive that includes a motor, rope, marine specified paint and full DNV certification.

All Dinamic Oil planetary gear units and winches are designed to exact specifications, using the latest technology. Other industries where these units are used include mining and mineral processing, sugar, cement, marine and food processing.
