The Launch of the BMG Academy of Excellence (Aug 2008) BMG – Bearing Man Group - is preparing to provide accredited technical skills training for staff and customers in diverse industries, through the launch of its own in-house training facility. “The company’s new brand and corporate identity comprises the introduction of a newly developed ‘Academy of Excellence’ which is aimed at instilling a culture of learning and knowledge sharing,” says Charles Walters, CEO of BMG. “Along with technical skills training, the Academy focuses on sales, service, management and financial skills, which will empower staff to help drive and deliver specific business objectives and enhance customer service. “We believe the Academy will also create sustainability in our business, through the development of scarce and critical skills for current and future staff. The team is also looking forward to helping customers with product knowledge and technical training requirements.” BMG’s Academy will be recognised by the relevant Seta’s and the Engineering Council of South Africa and will contribute to the Skills Development Fund as well as the company’s BBBEE scorecard. The re-branding of Bearing Man, which is based on extensive customer research, will see the emergence of a consolidated group offering a complete range of engineering components, along with an enhanced technical solutions service, which is underpinned by the company’s new training academy. BMG’s mission is to become the preferred product supplier and technical solutions provider in diverse sectors that include agriculture, mining, steel processing, robotics, sugar, paper and general engineering, as well as the automotive industry. BMG is a specialist distributor of bearings, seals, power transmission components, electric and geared motors, belting, fasteners and filtration. |
